After 17 years in the catering industry I felt it was the right time & place to do my own thing, so purchased the Beech Tree in July 2004. I had gained valuable experience at the Braeval Old Mill working with Nick Nairn, One Devonshire Gardens, Peebles Hotel Hydro, Leonardo & Co, not to mention a lot of the local pubs in the area. 15 years on & I still love it. I know it is impossible to get it right all of the time, but as long as we are trying our best then that’s all I can ask. My mission statement is to put the word “customer”, back into “customer service” as I feel too many times we experience poor service.I am grateful to everyone who visits the Beech Tree, especially those who take the time to fill in our comment cards, as this is one of the great tools I can use to gauge what you really think of us, whether you think we are getting it right & your helpful suggestions for where we can make improvements.
The 18 years have had ups & downs, but I won’t give up trying to make you want to come back time & time again.I would like to thank everyone for choosing to use & supporting the Beech Tree, as a small independent business your custom is very important to us. Anne Skea – Manager
A farmers daughter that has lived locally most of my life who appreciates good, well cooked quality food. I enjoy meeting people and the challenges of the day to day running of the Beech Tree. In the past I have had various jobs including working at a chartered surveyors, a car dealers as well working in a bakery in Holland for 10 years.I started working at the Beech Tree in May 2006 and was promoted to manager at the start of 2007. I enjoy working with all the animals & doing the odd gardening shift. It has been rewarding to maintain the high standards of the Beech Tree.
Liz Roberston – Manager
I have now been working at the Beech Tree for just over 18 years. I started off as a waitress, working my way up to supervisor & am now Assistant Manager. Before joining the Beech Tree team, I worked in a local inn as a chef for 9 years.
